Skyline High

will be the name of Ann Arbor's newest High School. I'm not sure where they got skyline from, since we really don't have one, but whatever. I hope their mascot won't be as bad as the River Rats.

It sounds like it wasn't supposed to have a meaning beyond squashing a movement towards a more controversial choice. It sounds like they went with this one because it was safe.

Where is this new school supposed to be, and who were the River Rats?

It was probably named Skyline, because its location in far northwestern Ann Arbor (just north of M-14 off Maple) probably has a good view of the City's skyline from the campus.

I didn't realize Ann Arbor extended beyond its beltway. The school must be right on the border of the city and whatever township that is.

I'd make fun of the River Rats, but my schools mascot was a pilgrim. lol

Meh, not as bad is Midland, MI's Dow High School. Midland Chemics. Their mascot was a freakin atom. Ugly as hell.
