Recommended Posts

Hello, here's what I have so far....I will add some updates soon!

State/Terr July 2003 July 2002 July 2001 July 2000 Pop. Change July 2000 -> July 2003

Alaska: 648,818... 641,482... 632,674... 627,576... (21,242)

Hawaii: 1,257,608... 1,240,663... 1,225,038... 1,212,343... (45,265)

Puerto Rico: 3,878,532... 3,859,523... 3,839,119... 3,815,909... (62,623)

Note: *The US Census estimates posted for Hawaii the past few years have been lower than what it supposed to be if you do the birth-death, domestic + international migration numbers the state numbers would be higher but they've been adjusted so that when all the states are added up they equal the US's total estimated population which is a set number or some crazy crap like that well thats what was emailed to me when i questioned them as to why the total pop estimates for the state are lower than what ive found by doing the math.

The correct estimates for Hawaii look like this:

Hawaii: 1,262,013... 1,244,920... 1,226,768... 1,212,343... (49,670)

births/deaths/migration: 17,093... 18,152... 14,425... n/a

Other estimates for 2003 these according to the CIA Worldfact book:

American Samoa: 70,260

Guam: 163,941

Marshall Islands: 56,429

Micronesia, Federated States of: 108,143

Northern Mariana Islands (CNMI): 80,006

U.S. Virgin Islands: 124,778

County numbers will be released this week or so and I will post them as it will also reflect the metro numbers for Honolulu and Anchorage.

Grow babies grow! :P

^But where is the extra county added to Anchorages metro at and how big of an area is it?

I wouldnt worry about Fairbanks id say about half of the 85,000 are probably scattered over thousands of square miles which the city/municipality area of Fairbanks is probably the better measurement of the actual urbanized or city like area which is probably the 30,000-40,000 figure.
