Colorado Cities in 2006 Part 5

Pueblo is a wonderful little city of 150,000 located 40 miles south of Colorado Springs. "The Steel City", The Oregon Steel Mill on the southeast side of the city is probably the most prominant feature of the cities skyline. While other Colorado cities have thrived in the last two decades, Pueblo has struggled to recover from a downturn in the steel production industry, and honestly has never really recovered from a 1921 flood that destroyed the city. Because of it's comparatively depressed economy, Pueblo is generally looked down upon by other I-25 corridor cities and has developed something of an inferiority complex. Still, in many way's it's one the most progressive cities in southeast Colorado. The Rawlins Public Library puts any library in Colorado Springs to shame, and the downtown convention center and Arkansas River Walk have breathed new life into the city center.

Here now, most of Downtown Pueblo, Colorado... which is geographically too huge to cover in one afternoon.

The River Walk.
