By there today, and aside from the office building being completely gone, the hotel looks like it's starting to go as well. The back building looks like the rooms are being gutted in prep for demolition.

So great to see the vibrancy in the McAlister area again! :thumbsup: Some called it dead. Guess Fresh Market and developers knew more than them. ;)

I agree. Plus at least the neighborhoods around McAlister Square seem to have maintained their stability, and some of them such as around E. Parkins Mill/Parkins Mill/Rockingham Road have gotten better (the house I grew up in, which has long been sold, is way more expensive, adjusted for inflation, than I'd guess my parents paid for it).

With the redevelopment of portions of Nicholtown, this development and possibly others, Pleasantburg at Laurens will improve greatly. I hope some mixed-use stuff will head this way. Isn't that "transit ready" community going around here somewhere?
