The second office building is being demolished now. It is much larger than the first one. It looks like the hotel will be last, but no doubt, very soon.

Greenville City Club was a private club that was attached to Vince Perone's.

Very little of this office building was left at 5:00 yesterday. They have probably finished by now. Maybe they even starte don the hotel, or will very soon. Somebody needs to get a shot of it when all three are gone. The total site is pretty big.

By there today, and aside from the office building being completely gone, the hotel looks like it's starting to go as well. The back building looks like the rooms are being gutted in prep for demolition.

So great to see the vibrancy in the McAlister area again! Some called it dead. Guess Fresh Market and developers knew more than them.

I would give credit for the rebirth to The University Center, Greenville Tech, Garner's Natural Food Market, and The Camelot. Without these additions/remodels, this area would indeed have continued to fade.

I agree. Plus at least the neighborhoods around McAlister Square seem to have maintained their stability, and some of them such as around E. Parkins Mill/Parkins Mill/Rockingham Road have gotten better (the house I grew up in, which has long been sold, is way more expensive, adjusted for inflation, than I'd guess my parents paid for it).

They had started demolition of the old hotel building when I drove by at lunch. I could see it from the Antrim side.

Walls are going up on the shopping center for the new Fresh Market. A photo of the sampling of brick they will be using.

I heard today that Fresh Market (in addition to this replacement store), is still prowling for a second location out Woodruff or Highway 14. Any ideas where?

Locating out along Woodruff Road is okay, but I like to see an additional location northward of the current store towards Travelers Rest and/or Taylors and Greer.

Fresh Market is taking shape and now the additional shops (entire shopping center is well underway). Anyone know other tenants?

Do we know how the size of this new Fresh Market differs from their current Greenville store? Since it will be new, I would expect it to be larger and more impressive than any of their existing stores (Greenville, Columbia, etc.).

I'm not sure what the other tenants here will be...

Fresh Market and the rest of the Forest Park development are looking nice. More great infill. I hear a rumor of more possible redevelopment around this intersection.......

With the redevelopment of portions of Nicholtown, this development and possibly others, Pleasantburg at Laurens will improve greatly. I hope some mixed-use stuff will head this way. Isn't that "transit ready" community going around here somewhere?
