LINK bus service is free to everyone?

I knew I could ride the purple buses free since I'm a student, but I didn't know that now anyone can ride it free! I think that's really cool since it makes downtown Ann Arbor more accessible to areas around the university for everyone (especially during these upcoming months).

I saw this on the route map here:

I also wasn't aware the Link doesn't operate during the summers months. Not surprising since there isn't a whole lot of students around.

The Link is operated by the AATA
