Where are Greenville's other urban commercial districts that are their version of the Vista, Five Points and Devine Street? I'd like to know so next time I'm up there I can try a different scene than the same stretch all the time.

Umm hello? What city with the amount of college kids that are downtown like Columbia has does not have a ton of bars and restaurants?

Urban commercial districts = ? I don't recall Columbia having a spectacular roster of big name retail stores downtown any more than Greenville does. A bunch of bars and restaurants (predominantly) aren't considered a "commercial district", if so then nearly every city would have one, or more, since every city has at least one road with Applebee's/Chilis/Outback etc etc all cramped together.

PS - Doesn't matter to me at all personally but just to add to the mix...Greenville does have the state's only 5-star restaurant. Where? Downtown.

For what it's worth, CorgiMatt only asked a question; he never even remotely claimed that Columbia had "a spectacular roster of big name retail stores downtown."

Now, for the last time, let's move on.

Well, the next time I'm in Greenville I'll check out that restaurant. But I guess the answer to my question is obvious, since that dowtown restaurant is where?....... "the same stretch."

My favorite view of the Cola Skyline is comming in on I-126. It looks very dense. I only wish you could see BOA and the Federal Building from that view.

You can if you turn on to the exit ramp off Greystone (as if you're coming from the Zoo). As soon as you're on the ramp and you pass the SC Education Lottery Billboard, look towards the city and you'll get a full view. I don't know why anyone has yet to take a picture from that view because it's pretty nice.

I would, but I haven't mastered the art of snapping pictures while driving 70 mph, lol.

are you kidding me, i was just about to leave to go take that exact same picture

gah

He who hesitates is lost. I really thought they'd be a little further along than that. I guess they got a late start.

I guess now I'm going to go try to take the one off of greystone

I'm looking forward to seeing that.

I took this from inside the tower dome of the Babcock building. It probably goes without saying - that abandoned mental facility is creepy. Also, there were about 93651684 wasps buzzing around me up there as I was snapping the photo, so pardon the lower quality.

That's an angle of the skyline you don't see much of.

How did you get into the mental facility? I remember I walked around the old prison building before it was demolished. It was around midnight and pretty creepy as well.
