Columbia Photo of the Day

Beautiful, but may I give a helpful hint that you may already know. Go back and take that same picture when the sun is behind the clouds for some good color saturation on the downtown buildings.

Thank you! I did not think of that. In fact, the picture was taken in December 2004 when there was little to no cloud cover. But I will definitely keep your hint in mind and I welcome photography tips because one can never stop improving.

It looks abandoned. Somewhat creepy, isn't it ?

I know that there is an very old cemetery in Columbia, did you take any pictures of it ? I like creepy places.

This one above inspired me, thanks !

Chtimi, it is abandoned. That is on the property formerly occupied by the state mental hospital on Bull Street that will become the Bull Street development in another thred on here. I'll hafta ask Firefox if he has more pictures.

I just thought this was awsome considering alot of cities have 3d models

It's cool, but it's dated. It doesn't show the Meridian building and the First Citizen's building. And it's starts too far south to show the Bank of America tower, the Jefferson Square building and the Strom Thurmond federal building. And it doesn't show the Palmetto Health Baptist Medical Center administrative annex building (10 stories).

I, too, took lots of pics at St. Patty's Day but they look pretty much like all of yours, so instead, I'm going to post the pics I took on the Horseshoe when I was walking back from the festivities to a friend's apartment.
