Columbia Photo of the Day

Recommended Posts

The camera was slightly tilted and could have used a filter, but a fun shot, Captain.

Yeah, I did kinda hurry the shot, and its a bare bones camera. But, it gives you an idea of what could be if some of you pros and hard core hobbyists got out there.

Glad y'all liked it. it really does make Main Street and the Vista look seamless. It also makes you realize what a big hill Columbia sits on.

Thanks for the shot Captain! I love how Main St. sits on top of the ridge, it's one of my favorite views of downtown.

Wish we could see the rest of the skyline....Federal Building, B of A, Hilton Hotel, Cornell Arms.

The baseball stadium is coming along nicely. Hope they are building a parking garage alongside it.

Here's some photo's from Main at Night that I took a couple nights ago. I've also, got some Night Skyline shots that i'll post later.

I think Finlay Park would/could be much better if it had the entire block. The Post Office is in a horrible location that separates the park from Main St.

I tried to search to see if someone has already posted this link, but didn't find anything... The RCPL has a great photo collection on flickr. I particularly like the pictures of The Big Apple and the Doug Broome's waitresses from the 40's that are half-naked wearing roller skates:
