Columbia Photo of the Day

Main Street from halfway up the steps of the State House.  My best friend in DC who has traveled the world many times over and shoots cities everywhere he goes says this shot reminds him of Ben Franklin Parkway in Philadelphia.

The skyline of the central business district from the north entrance area of the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center: The red brick building just beyond the stop sign is the back of the Urban Oufitters building in the Vista.

Hey CorgiMatt, (great pic BTW) if your still a student, would it be possible for you to snap some pictures from the breezeway's in Bates house?  I miss my stomping grounds and its views of the city.

I'm a 54-year-old state government retiree with a camera.  Thank you for the compliment on the photo.  Here's a photo I shot a while back.

If you look closely you can see EdVenture Children's Museum's round window in this photograph.  From this vantage the building definitely blends with the landscape.

Like this pic a lot.

Thanks.  I stood there for an hour waiting to see what the sunset would do to the buildings.  It wasn't one of those sunsets that make the skyline especially gorgeous.  The later it got the flatter the effect was.  A photographer keeps going back to the same spot.  For now I thought this shot was worthy.  It was one of the shots I took early in the hour.
