Theres a big difference though- the one on this thread compares downtown then and now. Greenville's compares the same downtown, while showing the growth of the suburbs.

Yeah RCPL is a nice library. Check out the local history room on the top floor. Lots of cool stuff in there

The only beef I have with the RCPL is the green glass. It has unpleasant memories of government buildings from the 70s. I know they did it for energy efficiency, but I really do dislike the green.

Hey, Capt., some of us LOVE the color of the glass! It is extremely attractive, IMO, and I have loved that modern architecture from day one!

Krazee, I can't believe you've never been inside the RCPL!! It also is the only library I know with ESCALATORS. Also, check out the Maurice Sendak "Where the Wild Things Are" mural downstairs in the Children's area. It is the only mural in the U.S. that the author has permitted.

Intellectually I have no problem with their being a Confederate Museum at the State Museum (it isn't a separate building or anything), and I wish the flag would move there from the State House, but I have to admit that I'm embarassed by the sign on 126.

I think the confederate museum should be separate...In the same area, like the museum district someone propose in another thread. And I definately feel that that darn flag should be moved into the confederate museum.
