I read a Tennessean article early this morning that tells how the new year wont shoe any slow down in growth based on all the recent developments under way or planned.

Here is the link to the Tennessean article : http://tennessean.com/apps/pbcs.dll/articl...lkhC9MPp+Yf8%3D

How do you think Nashville is going to fair over the new year?

I personally think we will see that number the mayor has set for downtown population at least halfway met.

and I also see the Signature tower begining construction, along with the new Bass Berry tower at the Shelby Bridge foot

Anybody notice the sidebar content for 2008 developments? It says Tony Giarratana's gulch project phase I will be nearing completion... and what's the unnamed project in the gulch? Has that one even been rumored? Of course, this is the Tennessean, and it's subject to verification in a big way.

There was a conceptual drawing that was on his website last year. The plans I saw were a multi tower development that connected with Church st. This is on the Polar storage site. I am glad to see that he is moving forward with that project. Needless to say, Tony is going to be a busy man.

Thanks for posting that image. I couldn't find the orignal paper to scan/post it. I think more than anything the image shows approximate massing of what might be feasable, rather than any specific building plans. Notice what I believe is the corner of 11th and Charlotte; a parking lot? Surely not.

^ I believe he owns the entire Polar Storage property, not a portion of the building. Currently it's one big structure that stretches from Charlotte Ave to Church Street. Glad to see this end of the gulch getting some attention. Hope it spreads further north of Charlotte, into what I believe is one of the seediest/sadest/underused areas abutting downtown.
