Charleston Photo of the Day

Recommended Posts

RT - Have you been to the park at the end of Pitt Street in the Old Village of Mt. Pleasant? At the eastern end of Pitt, there used to be a trolley bridge that went over to Sullivans. The town has turned it into a linear park, with a dock at the end of it on the old trolley bridge supports. From that vantage point, you can see the entire harbor from the Cooper River Bridge to the downtown skyline to the Morris Light House. If you go around sunset, you can see the sun dropping down behind the steeples of downtown. I'd love to see what you could capture down there.

Man, you're living it up down there. :)

Not exactly...but I am enjoying the area a great deal.

I have now! Thanks for the suggestion! To do it justice, I'm going to have to go back with a telephoto lens, my tripod, and more time to wait for the sun to set. For now, this will have to do:

I'll post them later this week but this past weekend I got to the new Waterfront Park in Mt Pleasant...I have to say they did a darn fine job w/ it, and I caught quite a nice Red Drum, though I wasn't able to get a good pic of it :(

Awesome shot! Is that the church on King Street that fronts Marion Square in downtown Charleston?

That's the one! I shot this photo from Marion Square on Sunday as the vendors from the Green Fair were breaking down and packing up. Thanks!

Thanks guys... I hadn't seen it as spooky before but a friend of mine went and told me that it looked really haunted. So I went back and shot it kinda with Bill's house in Bon Temps in mind. I think it turned out!

Edisto

Love how the birds are surfing there...need to make it over to Edisto one of these days, especially after a storm. I understand there are Whelk shells-a-plenty over there.

I can't get enough of the Ravenel Bridge either...evidently.

Yep, lots and lots of shells (mostly pretty beaten up this morning). Have you been out to Botany Bay yet? That was our original destination this morning but found it closed for the next week or so for deer hunting.

The bridge is indeed something to never tire of!
