North Boulevard Town Square

Is it hard to believe that people are downtown on weekends? If you have a television downtown, why not show the games? Would you rather them show the Weather Channel?

It's hard to believe people would be watching a ball game at the town square when the best tailgating experience in the country is a few miles away.

March madness and away baseball games during the spring.....I could definitely see people watching casually. You'd have to allow beverages and bring lots of food trucks for it to work.

There are many people who don't like the experience on campus. Beverages are already allowed.

Its ironic you mentioned The Weather Channel...Jim Cantore was at the North Blvd Town Square when Hurricane Isaac was knocking on the door. The backdrop behind him looked really nice ....a focal point for BR  :shades:

Sadly for Baton Rouge, the focal point of all of Cantore's reports is Cantore. :)

We are lucky he didn't rip out the seating around the town square and toss it into the powerful winds to demonstrate the awe inspiring power of steroid-induced muscle.....and maybe hurricane force wind if he has time.

Nice cool breeze tonight for being outside.

Why would they play such an old movie though?

That's fairly common. The public movie showings in my area are usually older Pixar movies on kids night, and classics or comedies on other nights....depending on the crowd they want to attract.

Your welcome Antrell...it was a nice time at the Christmas Festival of Lights...however the Reindeer 5K Run had the departing crowd stuck trying to get out of the Third Street parking garage; the police did a good job directing traffic. Nobody got run over!
