Buhrman-Pharr Lofts open Downtown

I actually did a site survey for this building when I was an intern with the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program. The loft idea was just a dream back then. I'm glad to see they did it -- that's a great old building. :D

An open house to showcase the new loft apartments was held Thursday. After 2 months of being open the lofts are already developing a community feel. The first phase is already 75% occupied and 300 people have already been by to view the lofts. The people living there are diverse. Including retirees, single parents, young couples and just singles. Development of the next stage is expected to begin sooner than expected. http://www.texarkanagazette.com/articles/2...news/news05.txt

Thanks. That's a great building to turn into lofts. That's pretty progressive, I don't think many towns Texarkana's size are doing that sort of thing. I hope it does well and that sparks similar projects. In LR downtown residential all started with the the Tuf-Nut building, a similar building to this one.
