Buhrman-Pharr Lofts open Downtown

I actually did a site survey for this building when I was an intern with the Arkansas Historic Preservation Program. The loft idea was just a dream back then. I'm glad to see they did it -- that's a great old building.

An open house to showcase the new loft apartments was held Thursday. After 2 months of being open the lofts are already developing a community feel. The first phase is already 75% occupied and 300 people have already been by to view the lofts. The people living there are diverse. Including retirees, single parents, young couples and just singles. Thanks. That's a great building to turn into lofts. That's pretty progressive, I don't think many towns Texarkana's size are doing that sort of thing. I hope it does well and that sparks similar projects. In LR downtown residential all started with the the Tuf-Nut building, a similar building to this one.
