Something that can't be captured by the photos is how amazingly SAFE Seattle is!

Women can basically walk alone anywhere, anytime, in safety. You don't find yourself looking over your shoulder, or locking your car doors when you get inside, etc Crime is so comparitively low as to be almost neligible....

The only serious crime problem in the Puget Sound region is car theft. You won't see a presentation of the day's murders everytime you turn on local news, as you do in East Coast cities. There just aren't that many killings here.

The personal safety issue was a delightful surprise for me when I moved here. After living on the East Coast my whole life I thought high crime was everywhere.
