Census Revised Up for Nashville-Davidson

4 posts in this topic

I told you so.... actually, a friend of mine who has been an actuary for over 40 years told me back in 2004 that the population was at least 600,000. He believes that the actual population is now over 625,000. He still targets somewhere around 650,000 as the 2010 population. He looks at everything that impacts population, like building permits, car registration, et.al. Additionally, he has said that growth rate is actually accelerating.

So the revision IS from the Census. I asked that question on the Nashville forum. Finally, now the census estimates for Nashville will be close to correct (at least when the 2007 estimates come out). Still, I wouldn't be surprised if they're slightly on the low side.

Seems we'll just have to wait and see what happens. I'd like to see the county continue to grow and keep people close in. Looks like at least in some ways, that's happening...to some degree.
