U.S. area codes' numbers crunch starting to ease

Very interesting, I think. Especially how they're predicting the East Valley's 602 will run out so much faster than the West Valley's 623 when the West Valley has the most room left to grow.

maybe they just went a little crazy in overlapping area codes? Obviously New Jersey didn't need as many. I think the East Valley's 480, will be tapped fairly soon. I don't know much about the 623. Michigan, had a deficiency which is why it's area codes have a high rate of use. AZ's continued growth i'm sure will fuel more.
