Planners Ponder Project Plats

The Texarkana, Texas, Planning and Zoning Commission approved a bevy of development plats during its regular monthly meeting held Monday night. Among them was a preliminary plat for the Richmond Development 6th Addition. Jeff Whitten, of Whitten Engineering and an agent for the owner, said a Dallas developer wants to develop the property. Nearly 20 acres, including part of the Richmond Development 5th Addition and property in the G. Brinlee HRS, was given an approval recommendation to be rezoned to Planned Development-General Retail. The property is in the 4400-4500 block of McKnight Road. The commission approved the re-plat of several lots in the North Park Estates Addition. Tom Patterson of Patterson Engineering said a drainage ditch will be reworked to improve the flow-through volume.One nearby resident, Jean Cotten, raised concerns about flooding problems. The commission also:approved a revision of the existing plan for an additional sign at 2323 Kennedy Lane. Patricia McCormick of Quality Care Optical made the request.Approved plats for the Stonevale Addition, Terra Bella Subdivision, A.L.
