I saw a replay of the news at Noon on WAFB awhile-ago and it was their lead story. That's the first I heard about it too; before reading BusinessReport. WOW!!! That would really be great for Third Street!!! I guess they would renovate the ugly 8-story building. $38Mil. ain't no joke! Palms on Third Street is a cool name too.

Some of those stinking members of the planning commission need to get there acts together in a hurry before they lose-out on a great opportunity.

There is lots happening on Third Street.

What do you think Bryde about this ?? Is it legit?? Him and his crew looked pimped-out. His family owns 50 clubs and restuarants in New Orleans??? The city planning commission claims they have never even been approached about this. What's up??

Sounds like a lot of money for this project. Something does seem strange about this guy, but who knows maybe he is for real. I'm just going to be a little optimistic and say that his pimp outfit was apart of the 30's era theme planned for the club.

Check this out yall......Palms on Third in back in the news, ya heard??

The real deal??? This could be legit after-all? I had shrugged this off as counterfeit too. But who really knows now??

New Orleans-area developer Vincent Marcello has big plans for downtown BR! This is the same dude last month when Bryde posted this..he went under the different name John Ramirez.

The Palms on Third(old Commerce Bldg.) would have a South Beach, Las Vegas vibe and be a mixed-use of residential, retail, and nightclub space. Maybe a Jazz Club?

That's exactly how he was dressed for back in that 20's,30's era. And check the people in the above rendering; that's how they are dressed too. Never hurts to be optimistic...most of the time.

This could be exactly just what the Third Street/Entertainment District needs! Some flair, more lights, Palm Trees...only blocks from everything else going on. Across the street from The Wine Loft; Just A block away (east) from future River Place and the new club w/ retro Coca Cola sign(north); and only couple of blocks from the Shaw Center for the Arts, Hilton Capitol Center, etc.

If they (city) listen to me and mount a Lamar Digital Billboard on the Third Street parking garage at Convention Street. Then Downtown could have it's own mini, mini :shades: -Times Square. I need to persue this more.

^^Thanks for the website Detective Dan  I hope The Palms on Third works-out.

If this happens..in say two years from now with the completion of all the residential projects about to begin downtown, this will have a much better chance for sucess.

New Residential projects that should be completed by then:

*River Place, * Shaw Center for the Arts(Phase II), *Kress, Welch & Levy lofts, *(reconfigured)Laurel Tower??, Lafayette Street lofts; * Condo's at the old Advocate site,*other Third Street lofts, *Lofts at North Blvd....+ the King Boutique Hotel,

And possibly condo's near the Hollywood Casino.

> A grocery store besides the one over in Spanish Town too.
