Recommended Posts

Newbern, TN, located just north of Dyersburg, was announced last month to be the site of a new Briggs and Stratton manfacturing plant. The new plant will be part of the Power Products division. Newbern was chosen due to its proximity to the companys engine plants in Popular Bluff, MO and Murray, KY. Employment figures have not been announced, but most of their plants employ hundreds, with the engines plants previously mentioned employing around 1000. Newbern's location on the forthcoming I-69 can be assumed to have been a positive factor.

Newbern is already an established manufacturing hub for NWTN, and at one time, and perhaps currently had more industrial jobs than citizens. It is the second largest town in Dyer County.
