Redevelopment of East Hills

Recommended Posts

GRGG...Tried to find out more about Urban Conservation Districts online, but only found a couple of examples in Missouri and Oklahoma. What's it all about and why do you think it would suit Eastown?

Okay, I gotcha. What about other sections of East Hills, like Diamonds Gate, Orchard Hill, or Fitch Corners? Yes, what is a Conservation District?

Here is a great example of a rehab in the Fairmount Square section of East Hills.

BTW, keep up the good work Mark!

That Wellington Ave is an interesting little street, with the curve and the houses packed in real tight. I've noticed a couple of small streets like that in different neighborhoods. I wonder if there is any unique history to it?

I can't believe that house in only $169,000 for 1800 sf.

You were playing your instrument, we were cold and ready to move on, and I didn't immediately recognize you. It wasn't until I thought about it later and then saw your post that I thought, oh, I think that was Karen.

Man...it was freezing last night. 2.85 miles in that deserves a pat on the back! I, too, had a great time last night. It is my dream to see our local businesses packed like this all the time. In some stores, I was elbow to elbow with other patrons. Nobody seemed to mind though. I wonder where most of the shoppers came from....the area neighborhoods or from farther out? With the ambiance of the Holiday Hop, I think anybody who ventured to EH/Wealthy will undoubtedly return soon.

I'd much rather be in packed stores like that though than at a packed mall. :) Just the general atmosphere of it all seems so much better, and I didn't have to fight someone over a parking spot.
