:yahoo: This thing is freaking awesome looking. Here are renderings and site plan: http://www.choldings.com/Marketing%20Packa...ent%20Place.pdf Look at page 9 especially.

-Located near I-385 and adjacent to Haywood Mall, the twenty-six acre site is part of the 150-acre Fluor-Daniel corporate headquarters park, which contains approximately 831,747 square feet in 6 separate office buildings. The park employs approximately 2,500 highly-paid engineers, construction professionals, and other white collar positions. The subject site will be a mixed-use development including a 150,000 square foot specialty center, with housing components both for sale and for rent. Crescent Place is slated to contain unique national restaurants not presently in the market, a book superstore, upscale specialty retailers, a hotel, and additional office buildings. Thoughts and opinions?

Fantastic!:thumbsup: Thanks for posting g-man. This looks like the type of dense village set-up that should help forward the Haywood area to becoming a "midtown" area. Looks like a really quality development. Can't wait to see this come on line.

Great! This improves the probability that it will be built (I hope).

You mean like Pinnacle on Main? ;)

I am kidding, of course, because I think this will definitely happen. But Pinnacle had that rendering sign on the property for a couple of years. I wondered how long it would take for the weeds to get taller than the sign.

Thanks g-man. Great to see this retail center moving ahead. I like the fact that this will open onto the small lake. When you zoom in on the renderings of the buildings, looks they will be highly detailed. Should be a wonderful addition to Greenville's retail scene.

Anybody heard any info about what restaurants may be in this development? I keep hearing a rumor about Morton's coming to Greenville (heard it for the 4th or 5th time just about 10 minutes ago). With all the new retail developments, we'll get many new restaurants, but Mortons doesn't seem to be in any smaller cities. I'd be shocked if this rumor came true, although, one person I was talking with usually has a good info on this sort of thing. Just curious what you guys know.

Morton's? Wow, simply having that as a rumor says a lot about where Greenville is today.

I am new to this forum and would like to add some comments. I think this is a great use for the remaining land of the Flour campus. I think the multifamily element will be a great addition to the area. I do think the retail will have significant trouble attracting high quality tenants. The majority of higher end tenants will either continue to be in the mall or over at the 2 Woodruff Road opportunities, Magnolia Park and Greenridge. The traffic, access, and visibility of the Crescent Place site are hardly regional in nature, and will not be able to attract the national retailers to this site. As for Mortons, they are not even considering the state of South Carolina at this point, and their two Charlotte locations which are the closest are average locations at best for the chain, and both are taking sales hits due to new openings in both trade areas from Ruths Chris.

Furman Co. retail specialist Doug Williams told the Greenville Journal this week that "long-rumored upstate lurkers such as Cheesecake Factory, Morton's, and a full-sized Borders Bookstore could be coming soon." By that, it sounds like Morton's is looking at locating here.

From my understanding it is true that Cheesecake Factory and Borders are both looking at Magnolia Park, but Mortons is nowhere to be found, and I have also heard that they did not even approve Raleigh for a store due to size, which is larger and more dynamic than Greenville

This looks like a great project. However, I would rather it be in a different spot, and have something like a mini McChesney development in this spot. This project does not look like it has a lot of density or height/visability (based on the renderings I see).

Look again, this is a very dense project. Every building is probubly 3-5 stories in height, also notice that almost all of the parking is in garages. This is a much bigger project than I think many of us realize.
