Developers aim to link waterfront features

As part of the project, additional parks would be constructed -- some already planned as part of Museum Plaza -- and a pedestrian bridge from the Ali Center to the Belvedere would be constructed.

By the end of 2010, if all goes as planned, Louisville's skyline will be altered by two massive projects along Main Street -- the Museum Plaza skyscraper near Seventh Street on the west, and a new arena at the eastern edge, near Second Street.

With both projects expected to bring a surge of tourists and residents downtown, local officials and developers are focusing on ways to connect the two -- and they're keying on the existing Riverfront Plaza/Belvedere.
