Friends in nashville close to the project have said that they have sold around 35% in the 4 months the sale center has been open, which is still 25% from the sales needed for construction.

I can't confirm this, however I have heard:

65-74 stories for the hotel resi portion- approx 1.4M feet (not definite yet because it is still being defined)

36-44 stories for office - approx 750K to 1M feet

2 story retail - 200K feet

Total = 2.35M feet + or -

So, will Tower Charlotte, and Bank of America virtually be the same height?

Hm, maybe 74 stories...With a crow...Then a spire, that will be a new tallest that really looks like a new tallest!

Thanks for all the new infos! I'm starting getting excited here while I'm on the other side of the Atlantic ocean!

Not impressive at all for a project that's been of the highest profile in Nashville (and beyond) for over a year now. Supposedly there's going to be a groundbreaking for the Sig in less than 2 weeks....go figure....but then we digress from the real topic at hand

No--the main tower is not commercial / office. It is hotel, condotel and luxury residences. The office tower will be separate and is dedicated to ALL OFFICE. The two structures will be connected by a 200K sqft retail podium (2 floors at 100K each) with lots of green space and pedestrian areas.

Well sounds kind of like the cat is out of the bag on this, that is some very specific information you have just commented on. The next logical question would be which tower goes up first (or dare they build simultaneously?) The fact remains there is still (arguably) a greater demand for office space than high end residential, though the hotel space is perfect. Your information would also seem to quell speculation on a corporate relocation event in conjunction with this project... no?

Hold on folks---sorry but there will NOT be a formal announcement this week....negotiations for additional parcels have taken longer than expected. The formal announcement will not come until the final renderings are ready and all trade contracts are signed. I cannot tell you at this point when that will be. There are not any problems...just that everything needs to be in place before they go "official." This only makes sense. As I mentioned before, when the formal announcement is made it will not be thru a 'Next Big Thing' article...we are talking televised press conference, etc.

As to architects, I can tell you this--LS3P was disqualified months ago. That article in the CBJ about "wanting to work with 'The Donald' himself" was just Tribble posturing so as to protect his reputation when Charlotte finds out that the architect is not LS3P.

I hope that additional parcel is that parking lot infront of the Ratcliffe.

Take it for what it is worth, guys. Guy4 said there would be an announcement and then retracted for a stated reason. Please just let that be that. These one liner questions asking to confirm what has already been said are littering this thread, and making it harder to see what of substance has actually been posted.

If you want to ask if anything has changed, please send a private message to Guy4, or wait until he or someone else posts new news, as has already been happening when things change.

Thanks.

Thanks Dubone. Nothing has changed guys--from what I hear the project is still a definite "go" and it is going to be spectacular. I am only on the periphery of this and will let you guys know anything that I can when I can...but please do not pvt msg me, as I have nothing else to add other than what I have already shared on here. When I hear anything new I will share it with all of you, and hopefully those others out there who are also either directly or indirectly 'in-the-know' will also share whatever tidbits they can as well.

So anyways I was out with my friends last night. I have a friend who's dad is high up in the Little Firm. I asked him how progress was on the project gauging to see if they won the project, thinking he would spill the beans. Instead he gave me this vague story about how the Trumps will do this project as soon as they sell all their casino properties because they are losing so much money holding onto them than they will move on with the project. I don't know bout you guys but that sounds like the same kind of we didn't get the project so lets make up something to make sense of it and not hurt our name. I dont know does that sound like the case to anyone?????

On the contrary, I have heard that the Trumps are working with their publicly owned casinos and are attempting to take them private for the opposite reason. There is no question that this has taken bandwidth away from their other development projects, not just Charlotte.

Hang in there fellow UPers! The pace should start to pick back up over the next few weeks!

I actually had my last post pretty much confirmed last week. I think that what my friend said had basis is my assumption. They had an article last week saying that Trump has been really trying get full reign of the casino's he owns I think it was saying so that he can than sell them I may be wrong, but he wants full reigns for some reason and I think that once this is solved he can final finish this project, however I'm not that good of a source I only have to sources that get tidbits sometimes. Anyways though I had a nightmare that this project was shelved too like 4FU and basically it was aweful I'm ready to hear the announcement, I'm having nightmares about this project.

Call me Mr. Negative, But I already {in my mind} declare this dead... Only so I do not get all depressed ;)

Expect the worst, hope for the best.

I do wonder, although, how exactly did we {UP} assume a German bank was moving some jobs to Charlotte? Just wild speculation? To me, this whole project is nothing but that; Specualtion.

Hmm...well in most financial mags they are reporting that Trump was not succusful in selling off his casinos and will now look at selling them off one by one. Trump has a minority share in the Casinos and they are a seperate company than the one building the condos bearing his name across the country. If he were to sell the Casinos at their current market value his share would be about $75M.

This project is far from dead, that is unless the Donald can't finance it. We found out from a forumer who gave us small tid-bits here and there about this project. Just give it about a week or two and you'll probably hear something.

Mr. Negative :)

I wouldn't get too worried about it at this point. I still feel strongly about this project, and just because it hasn't formally been announced yet doesn't mean it will never be announced and the project is dead. There are no indications at this point that the project is dead, so I'm not even thinking about that at this point.

If the Trump project fell through or got long-delayed, I wonder how it would effect the other neighbor projects at 300 N. Tryon and One Charlotte, since they were banking on Trump being an Anchor for an ultra-high end area on S. Tryon. Since One Charlotte are already selling of its rooms at its incredibly high prices already, I don't think that One Charlotte would be affected as much as 300 N Tryon, which seemed to want to work with the Trump Tower in multiple ways.

One Charlotte is nearly sold out? Is that what you said? If you have any more sales info from them, please share, as good news from One Charlotte helps the case for the Trump Tower. One Charlotte is a market indicator for Trump.
