Pittsburgh wins US Air operations center

Recommended Posts

Looks like we won the bidding war for this center, much to my surprise. This will apparently mean about 150 new jobs in addition to retaining a bunch of existing jobs. US Air will be needing a new building, which will most likely be on Airport Authority owned property.

I'm glad we won, but I am not happy that we needed to shell out a bunch of grants, tax breaks, etc. in order to do it. I think it's a shame that that's how things work; but I guess we have to either do it or lose out on almost everything.
