Distillery District

This article was in today's paper. There has been a lot of talk about this, but this is the first I have heard of actual plans and development....more great news. Basically, the area around Manchester street is being turned into a new arts / entertainment / residential district. Several old distillery buildings will be converted.

I recalled seeing a plan (from Lexington DDA?) about reinventing Manchester Street as a trendy residential district. Now I know that is confirmed with some actual work. It'll be nice to see some of these abandoned or severely neglected structures put to good use, and will only benefit with the completion of the Newtown Pike extension.
