Quick update from www.clubparis.net ....apparently they are closing the club at Church Street on August 12th and opening in a new location with a new name....so I guess the rumor that Khun was going to make all the current tennants vacate is true?

he already made one guy I know move his office out of there... but Club Paris? I though part of its charm was the location.

Kuhn is definitely up to something big. He's making a really big issue about getting rid of that iconic train that has been parked out in front of the station for decades. There's no real reason to move it (it would have to be disassembled actually) other than to free up space for something else.

(Sarcasm) This time he's going to convert Church street into 10 story parking pedastal! With nothing on top! (End Sarcasm)

Seriously, he's good for this city. It will be interesting to see what he's got up his sleeves for this one. Really looking forward to it.

Interesting how one of the related articles to Kuhn and the deals some of the tenants had from the pearlman days.

"An analysis of the leases by Orlando Business Journal this week revealed that at least two high-profile tenants weren't required to pay rent, and several others paid below-market rates. "

It's no wonder he's kicking people out. I think a hotel on Church st. would compliment the area nicely.

I'm sure it will be a big-name hotel; hopefully a Ritz or another Waldorf. However, given the small demand for hotel rooms downtown compared to the tourist district (where 30+ storey hotels are built), I think it would be safe to assume that the hotel would probably be no bigger than the Westin across from city hall; maybe 15 stories tops.

I would hope that the new performing arts center and arena would help justify building a larger hotel. There are also several big events in the central Florida area each year that would help sell rooms to an extent.

Believe it or not there are no 30+ story hotels in the tourist areas either. Several have been proposed, but none have managed to get off the ground yet. It's sad actually. We consistently beat out Vegas every year in tourist attendance, yet we cannot build Hotels even close to the caliber of their casinos.

That's because...we don't have casinos.
