BU planning new center for campus [The Boston Globe]

The University's 20 year plan calls for moving the campus center to the intersection of Comm. Ave. and the BU Bridge. Completely redesigning that traffic chocked intersection creating a campus green space, cafes, retail, dormitories, and academic buildings. The plan also calls for a public transportation hub connecting the green line to a new commuter rail stop as well as the future Urban Ring line. City and state officials welcome the university's plans as now is the time to start planning for the future route of the Urban Ring.

The article goes on to mention that Harvard is looking for public transit improvements for its proposed Allston Campus, and BC is working with the state to relocate the BC green line stop. Campuses are using public transit as a way to move students and raise federal funds for campus expansion plans.
