I like what outapitts is saying. You can learn plenty from upset people. When the diplomatic walls come down all kinds of things that need to be said are said.

I got a laugh out of the "New People" comment. I hope he continues to critisize Pittsburgh within this thread. I will keep coming back to learn more. Personally I dont care what he may have said on another board because I will never go to that board and I hate to listen to gossip.

Rock on outapitts -- You are very welcome to say your thing in this thread. Trust me, everyone will continue to listen because you do make sense.

By stereotyping a whole region of ~2.5M people, I find "outapitts" to be at least as narrow-minded as he claims Pittsburghers are. Oh, but I forgot: His narrow-mindedness is justified.

Whatever happened to not judging the whole based on the actions of a few? He uses anecdotal evidence (one dumbass ex-Pittsburgher in South Carolina) to smear an entire population. That's just like assuming that all Muslims are terrorists, all blacks are in gangs, everyone who lives in San Francisco is gay...everyone who lives in Pittsburgh is either a) a dumb yinzer who's "ignorant of the outside world," or b) a "smart" person who "can't wait to leave"...

He hasn't browsed through any of the topics here either, apparently. Pittsburgh's problems are discussed on these boards, just as its assets are. The difference is here, it's a healthy discussion. In other words, it's the antithesis of Craigslist, The Pittsburgh Channel, etc., where people do nothing but beotch, and NEVER offer solutions to any problems the city/region may face.

If I hated a particular city or region of the country, I wouldn't waste my time thinking about it, unlike this guy. He's looking for validation of his opinions. In that case, I'd recommend two websites for people just like him:

Okay, here's the deal. We can and do talk about the city's problems here. That's fine. But we try to do it in a constructive way. Outtapits, some of your posts seem like you are baiting, trying to get people upset.

Here is a clear example of baiting from one of your posts:
