Nice to see some progress here. Those stilts sort of give you a feel for the presence that this will have on the street.

Today's H-J reports that the Carolina Alliance headquarters building has been "topped off". This building, while not huge, will provide a much needed white-collar presence to this part of downtown.

Indeed it will! I'm excited to see how this building's shape looks on Church St.

Ok, here is a really bad, far away shot. You can't tell from this picture, but this one building extends the "downtown" feel significantly. It has a great presence on Church Street, and it will contribute a lot for downtown's future development. I will try to get some better pictures while I'm home for Thanksgiving if the weather cooperates.

Is this shot from the parking lot behind the county library HQ building?

Sort of. Its from the top of the Kennedy Street Garage. The library parking lot is in the foreground of that picture. I wasn't able to take pictures this weekend for various reason. Maybe next time!

It looks like the building is almost complete. Also, Goodyear is doing some streetscaping work across the street.

Carolina Alliance Bank is set to open its doors in its new building on S Church St this Tuesday, May 27th which is several days before its June 1 deadline.

City planners hope that this building will spark more redevelopment and infill along the CBD's southern gateway and help to connect downtown with Hampton Heights.

While the building is not architecturally stunning, it does include the key design features that you mention^. The building is to the street, and the main entrance, at least visually, is on the corner. Its interesting how this building extends the "CBD" feel down Church St,
