Table Rock/Taneycomo connections

If you saw my post about the crosstown expressway, you already know that I am a bit of a dreamer and I like to brainstorm.

Is there any way possible to connect Table Rock Lake with Lake Taneycomo? I know that they would have to put in a small series of locks to bypass the dam. The reason I ask this is that Taneycomo is not really a lake. It is a glorified river. If there could be a connection of the two, you could have boaters come down to the landing as well as other Branson areas, or have cruises or sightseeing boats go from Branson to Table Rock. I think it would be a cool idea. Once again it is probably not very cost effective though. What do you all think?
