The Sprout Fund is going to hand out money to people and groups with good ideas for the city's 250th anniversary. Anything from parades to books, from the sound of it. If you think you have a good idea, check out the article for details.

I think this is a really nice project. It allows people and groups to get involved who might not be able to otherwise. And it encourages a wide variety of celebrations for this event.

The URL mentioned in today's Post-Gazette article for Community Connections is not yet live. Please visit http://www.imaginepittsburgh.com/about-pit...ions/index.aspx to learn more about Community Connections, Pittsburgh 250, and the Imagine Pittsburgh campaign.

Revisit the site next Tuesday, April 10, 2007 when full information about this exciting funding opportunity in celebration of the region's 250th anniversary will be available online.

The deadline for project applications is not until Friday, September 14, 2007.
