detroit subway questions

3 posts in this topic

Hey all,

I have a question regarding some old detroit history and was hoping someone here may be able to give me some facts regarding the myths around the detroit subways.

Was there ever a even partially funtional subway, private or public within the city limits of detroit?

Were the underground subway station looking oddities in highland park, subway stations or to be subway stations, if not what the heck were they there for. I have heard rumors that they were simply tunnels under the street for pedetrian traffic, all the way to that they were part of a subway that fed the old highland park automotive plant.

I would just like to find somewhere to find some hard facts regarding these rumors/myths/legends.

any information would be greatly appreciated!!
