Updates on construction status:

1: Wynn Encore-is up to the 21st floor to be complete in 2009.

2: The Palazzo- working on the 49th floor.

3: Echelon Place- construction to begin June of this year and open in 2010 at a cost of 4 billion.

4: Trump Tower#1- currently up to the 60th floor 4 more to go!!

5: Planet Hollywood- foundation work

6: MGM Signature Towers B and C- Topped out (40 floors each)

This is just a few of the projects under construction or proposed when I find more information I'll post it as soon as I can.

Trump Tower #1 has offically topped out at 64 floors (645 ft.) making it the tallest tower in LV by 31 ft over Wynn.

At 12:01 am this morning The New Frontier the oldest casino on the strip closed to make way for a new hotel a replica of the Plaza Hotel in New York City.

I am staying at the Wynn right now and we joked that the Frontier probably has a big bullseye on it for new development. I guess I was right. Funny though, the signs are lit as if the place is still open. Will they frontier be imploded?

I have to say, there is a lot of condo building going on but I am not at all impressed by the location of a lot of it. It seems like a large congregation of buildings around the Stratosphere, which is a pretty crappy part of town. I hope they have plans to improve the area. Lots of pawn shops and run down buildings.

I am not a big fan of the Trump Tower either. I just think the gold is overdone (Mirage, Mandalay Bay). I heard it will have a twin. Maybe that will make it more interesting. Drove past City Center and that looks very impressive!

Also, what is the World Market Center? It is a very interesting building, but looks like it only be used for conventions or a merchandise mart (not a lot of windows).
