Corbin to open bids for expo center

Key --

1. A meeting today will be held to find out how much the Expo center at Corbin will cost.

2. The exposition center has been 'years' in the making and dirt has been 'moving' at the site for much of 2006 and 2007.

3. The projected cost is $18 million and should be completed in 2009.

4. The expo center will be adequate for concerts, public performances, etc. and could generate $26 million in revenue.

5. Last week, the state of Kentucky awarded $1 million+ for an access road to the technology center -- sitting below the expo center.

this is pretty exciting news if this were built. i've read where this area has been growing at a very healthy rate. good news for an underserved area.
