Uptown Approach

What does everyone think is the best driving approach into Uptown when coming from the Airport. Keeping in mind that it should not be TOTALLY out of the way and indirect, which approach is most vivid - adding for views and landmarks, and subtracting for neigborhood blithe and/or traffic conditions?

I voted Wilkinson, though I would change it up slightly by taking Morehead instead of John Belk.

If your goal is to impress out of town visitors than I would take 85 N to 77S to I-277 Brookshire.

The portion of Brookshire from 85 to 77 is rather rundown and undeveloped and would not leave a good impression with out of town visitors.

I think it was mentioned on another thread here not too long ago - Park Road and Fairview. It may be going out of your way from the airport, but you could jockey back over to South Blvd. and head uptown.

Freedom Road gives a pretty great view of the city end to end. It even includes that rose colored building on S. Blvd.

Coming from the airport, Wilkinson isn't all that bad. Maybe because I drive it every day, I look past all of the not so great parts!

not that it matters too much, but for my personal inquiry... Wilkinson to Belk won when I escorted family in from the airport. Main reason: my uncle is huge football fan and loved seeing BoA Stadium looming in the distance.

Take I-85 to I-77 then to Brookshire, it bypasses the undeveloped parts on Brookshire even though it adds a mile or two.
