So I was thinking.

What would columbia have to do to promote itself in a way to Score a huge bank or Tech company in downtown. Big enough that the company is willing to build a huge tower for it

Also i heard awhile back that Aflac or Blue Cross Blue Shield was looking for a new location in downtown I've heard rumors for awhile that either one is gonna build a possible downtown tower office space to combine all the local work force into one, building.

Somewhat OT here, but the fact that the P&C is posting articles about Columbia small business openings says a lot about the quality of The State these days. I hope their realignment and printing consolidation helps address this reporting problem.

Call 4 Health, a provider of call center operations for healthcare facilities throughout the United States, announced plans back in March to establish new operations in Richland County. Mattress manufacturer MLILY USA plans to expand its Winnsboro factory, adding 65 workers to a third shift and increasing production at the 650,000-square-foot facility by more than 4,000 units a day. The expansion will bring the facility to full employment with 250 workers, helping the manufacturer to meet demand expected to top 6,000 units a day by the end of August, according to a news release from the company.

Boat designer and manufacturer Xplor Boatworks LLC will invest more than $3.4 million in its Pineview Industrial Park operations in an expansion expected to create 63 jobs. The facility is slated to be complete by the fourth quarter of 2020.

The parent company of firearms maker Palmetto State Armory inked a tax deal for a new facility in a former Midlands brake plant.

Lexington County Council voted unanimously April 27 to provide property tax incentives for the company, described by Council Chairman Todd Cullum, as a “veteran-owned small-arms manufacturer,” in exchange for its $61.7 million investment into the former Akebono Brake plant in West Columbia near the Columbia Metropolitan Airport.

The deal also comes with the promise of 150 new jobs.

This is a very good parcel for industrial development. Right on I-20 and one mile from I-77.I've wondered why that land had never been developed, but now it looks like this industrial park could spur additional growth there.

According to the article, this development would be in the Lowcountry. Good pickup for Ridgeville.
