when you break it down it seems fair, but some hosts are a little surprising. Atleast the way the regions are set up. I guess a little has to do with travel, more teams you keep under 500 miles means they have to bus instead of fly.

I agree some of the hosts do seem surprising. I am not certain which schools, that you might have expected to host, did not submit requests to be considered to host a regional. There are sometimes conflicts that we may not know about at some campuses that would not allow them to host on a given year. That combined with the desire to show a balance throughout the country would cover much of it.

It was a big surprise when they put away Alabama in the first game at Bama. I am very happy for them. I always feel good for smaller schools when they do well.

The Tennessee women are in their final, but they lost their best bat in a base running attempt versus North Carolina.

I am relieved that the Tennessee men pulled out the final game to get the last spot in the SEC baseball touney. That means they will have their hands full against Vandy in the opener.

You must have very little respect for the Big Ten in Softball. Northwestern was 15-3 48-11 in the regular season and South Carolina was 12-16 38-24. I think that Baylor and Michigan match up real well. Baylor may have an advantage in that they are hosting. Their regular seasons were very close too. Baylor 14-3 48-13 vs Michigan 12-4 46-11. The thing that I gave to Michigan was that they have been to the WCWS and can use that as something that can work for them.

I think that Alabama has a better team than Washington, but they are having to play at Seattle. That may have pushed you to go with Washington. Washington 12-9 38-17 vs Alabama 21-6 51-7.

I made my predictions in the super regional thread, I'm a little late for this thread. I am loving this years #8 vs. #9 matchup for my wolverines more than last years 8 vs. 9, Tennessee vs Michigan. I agree Tennbear, that matchup is a toss-up. Hopefully Lorilyn Wilson can keep the bear lineup at bay. I said it in the other thread, the general consensus in the softball world is tha the SEC trio of Tennessee, Alabama, and LSU got screwed in the NCAA seeding process. And how about the nations top ranked team only being a three seed?

I can't wait for tomorrow night!
