After enjoying Nate's New Orleans photo, here's some pics of Charleston taken earlier this afternoon. I must have taken 100 pics, but I only have time to post some of them now; I'll post the rest later. Most are big, so give them time to load.

The 50's or 60's era building housing Talbots is one of the few in DT Charleston that doesn't fit.

I don't know how that passed the architectural reviw board.

Yes, summer is very hot and humid, but the other season's more than make up for it in my opinion.

Great pictures of downtown, they really capture the feel of the city. I moved here 17 years ago from New England and agree that the weather is mostly great. Even summer is not all heat and humidity. There is also a lot of new construction downtown, condo's and new stores and of course the Collage of Charleston and the Medical University continue to expand. All and all a very dynamic place.

Beautiful! Charleston is one of my favorite places. I get to see it again in less than 2 weeks!

P.S. So many new bldgs I don't recognize. I see that they've totally redone the Sumter House on the Battery. It looks richer! And there's an Apple Store. Mega-cool...In the last photo of King Street, I used to live in the building where the Subway is...Back then in 1980s Subway was a bookstore called Harpagon owned then by important San Francisco friend of mine who's no longer with us...Imagine in 1977 he bought that building for only $75k...
