NewBridge Bank Park. After 3 years the stadium still stays packed. The Grasshoppers lost this game by one in the 9th inning but there was a spectacular fireworks show after the game. The bad news is someone, I think a kid in the stands got beamed in the head by a baseball and they had to call 911. The ambulance came and brought a stretcher in. I assume the person was knocked out unconscience.

Roy Carroll, developer of Center Pointe owns the land where the windowless brown building (behind the scoreboard) sits. Roy Carroll has said he has plans for a mid-rise to high-rise mixed-use residential development there. Roy Carroll could indeed become Greensboro's next "Joe Koury"

I really love the fountains. When there are no events happening in the park, they are the draw. There is something about water that attracts people. I wish we had even more fountains downtown. The statue of General Greene in the roundabout should be surrounding by a fountain in my opinion.

I stood on my feet for over 6 hours staight. I got in the line at the rally at 6 am. Obama didnt speak til 12:15 pm. It was worth it because I got a spot near the base of the stage and at the end I shook Obama's hand. Here are pictures I took.

The line behind me around 8 am

Superb pics!!! I wish I had gotten there at the time you did! I got up at 6:30 am and left at 8:30 am. I didn't get there till 10:00 am due to a number of stations in Winston being out of gas. After trying to find a parking place, I ended up parking on MLK Drive in Southside and started to wait in line at Lindsay & Elm. It took over an hour and a half to walk about four blocks before I could get in. Since it was almost impossible to get any of the duo (I barely got a glimpse of them by holding on to a lightpole), I mainly focused on people's reactions to the speech. Here are the photos I got:

thanks Suburban George!

great pics Jerseyboy! Its amazing how long that line stretched. If everyone was in a single line instead of being clustered together in line, im sure it would stretch for several miles. The count was said to be 20,000 plus people.

Yea I made a plan before I went. I knew people were going to line up as early as 6 am to get a close spot to the stage. I learned my lesson the last time Obama came to Greensboro. When I arrived, just 50 people were in front of me and I knew I was going to get close to the stage. I will say time went by fast for standing on your feet in the same spot for 6 hours. It was actually about 7 hours of standing if you count the time Biden and Obama spoke. But it was worth it to be able to watch Obama and Biden speak less than 20 feet away from you and to actually get to shake Barack Obama's hand. It a surreal feeling. I'm sure he'll be back to the area before election day. Next time he'll probabally be in Winston-Salem and you can get a GOOD head start :)
