Jacksonville: Downtown

I had some free time on my hands this weekend so I broke out the cameras and spent some time shooting several pics around the city (mtero pop. 1.2 million) from downtown, to the beach, and back to some inner city neighborhoods. I also have some of St. Augustine, too.

My first stop was downtown at 9AM Saturday morning. So lets get started, shall we.

Downtown is a great place. DT Jacksonville is one of my personal favorite skylines. I'm excited about all the new towers that are going up along the Southbank. They will certainly add alot to the skyline.

Awesome pics! I've never been to downtown Jacksonville (or even to Florida for that matter), but I could definately get used to it. It's great to see all kinds of buildings being renovated also.

First time I have seen pics of Jacksonville,looks to be quite a nice old city.The Florida Theatre is a nice landmark!

Yeah, I love the Florida Theatre, along with the "pocket park" across from it. The new federal courthouse is another one of my favorites. Those were some nice pics!

These are some nice pictures of downtown. Can you head to the beaches community preferably AB and JB to take some pics? I think that would be neat.

I'll probably be headed next month to St. Augustine for a mini-vacation. Anything I should really see while I'm down there? I've never been to the area and will be down there for half a day Thursday through Sunday morning. Post your pictures of this place so I know what to expect! 8-)

You should go visit the Flagler College which is very distinguishable. It has tall European style turrets and buildings. Also, you need to visit the fort. It can't be missed. If you want to, St. George street is across from the the fort. Shopping and good restraunts are there. The beach can't be missed either.

Love the pics. The one time I was in Jacksonville, I was nowhere near downtown. Me being a teenager at the time, I was stuck way out in the country . This is a nice showing of Jacksonville's historic buildings. It's quite a contrast of what I usually see.

I have not been to Jacksonville in over 10 years. I will have to give them credit for turning that city around.
