Jacksonville: Downtown

I had some free time on my hands this weekend so I broke out the cameras and spent some time shooting several pics around the city (mtero pop. 1.2 million) from downtown, to the beach, and back to some inner city neighborhoods. I also have some of St. Augustine, too.

My first stop was downtown at 9AM Saturday morning. So lets get started, shall we.

I'll probably be headed next month to St. Augustine for a mini-vacation. Anything I should really see while I'm down there? I've never been to the area and will be down there for half a day Thursday through Sunday morning. Post your pictures of this place so I know what to expect! 8-)

You should go visit the Flagler College which is very distinguishable. It has tall European style turrets and buildings. Also, you need to visit the fort. It can't be missed. If you want to, St. George street is across from the the fort. Shopping and good restraunts are there. The beach can't be missed either.

Love the pics. The one time I was in Jacksonville, I was nowhere near downtown. Me being a teenager at the time, I was stuck way out in the country :(. This is a nice showing of Jacksonville's historic buildings. It's quite a contrast of what I usually see.
