The 3M Performance 400 at Michigan International Speedway was rained out Sunday and will be ran on Monday instead. The forecast is between 80 to 100% rain on Monday and if it is pushed to Tuesday, it will be the first time NASCAR has ever ran a race on a Tuesday after back to back rain outs. The last time a race had back to back rain outs was on a Sunday and Monday in 1997 at Talladega. That race was moved several weeks later to what had been an open date. The only problem is that there are no open dates the rest of the season...

Correct. NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said "according to the rulebook, the Chase field is comprised of the top 12 after the first 26 events and the Chase is comprised of the final 10 races." That would make New Hampshire on Sept. 16, not Sept. 8 at Richmond, Va., the 26th race and the cutoff for the Chase. A rescheduled Michigan race would be the 10th race in the Chase, replacing Homestead-Miami Speedway as the season finale.

Speedway Motorsports Inc. has expanded its relationship with Ticketmaster to include a ticket resale service for race events at each of the six SMI facilities (Atlanta Motor Speedway, Lowe's Motor Speedway near Charlotte, Bristol Motor Speedway in Tennessee, Infineon Raceway in California, Las Vegas Motor Speedway and Texas Motor Speedway near Fort Worth). Through TicketExchange, season-ticket holders who are unable to attend races may visit the TicketExchange section of ticketmaster.com and post their tickets for resale. Fans who purchase tickets through TicketExchange will receive a new ticket identifying the buyer as the new owner of that ticket.
