I personally think it would be a good idea to demand that all clubs install security checkpoints with metal detectors. What is wrong with making sure no guns enter a nightclub. Maybe not in Bars, which are less loud with no music, quite and not many horny people.

As far as the Zoo bar, isn't there already a lawsuit against the city because it was denied a liquor license transfer to become a strip club. They can say we have been trying to bring in new owners and make it a diffrent kind of venue but the city is not allowing it. For this bar, I think the citys' corrupt leaders are somehow purposly causing the problems or over-exadurating (spell check) them to bring it down. But I could be wrong, I don't usually go to any Detroit nightclubs

I don't think he was implying that, at all. I think he was implying that the city government is doing all in its power to close down the bars, and he's probably right. I know in my own city that the city government used every loophole it could find to close down a succession of 3 or 4 clubs that experienced all-too-regular violence. It's not a conspiracy; it's something city governments do all of the time.

Now, I'm more confused than ever about what you're talking about. Police departments are independent agnecies of a city. It's far-fetched to imply that office of the executive is calling all of the shots on who to protect and who not too. Actually, I think you we're saying what Detroitfan thought you were saying.

My friend, this isn't your first wacky conspiracy theory you've offered up, here, and I really do wonder why you continue to willingly risk embarrassing yourself, here. First, it was how the "Jewish media" was trying (and succeeding) in ruining Detroit's image. Now, it's about a conspiracy that a corrupt city administration is trying to squeeze the Arabs out of Detroit. Perhaps, you should keep these crazy theories to yourself, because they really distract from actual, factual issues. Even JoAnn "Conspiracy Theory" Watson would know better than this. It's just really getting old, and offensive.

Lmich, I didn't came up with the idea that Kilpatrick is kicking arabs out. They did. Why do you think both mayoral candidates against kilpatrick said they would fix relations with arabs. And I was personally there when Kilpatrick met with the arab and chaldean community and promised to work better with them in his next (this) term. I also pointed out in my post that it was "speculation" by the business owners that "they" believed they were forced out. Not me, I never had a business in the city, and I don't in any way feel hated by the mayor. Talk to more Chaldeans and you'll see what they'll say. Sure they may be wrong, but that's what THEY believe. As far as the club issue, I didn't mean it they way Detroitfan put it, AT ALL. I actually meant it just like you said it, and that they'll do anything in their power to bring it down, but not literaly go out and kill people to close it. As far as the Jewish media thread, it was wrong, I'll admit it, but I need to see if you still think this post was wrong before I apologize on it. This place is also for debate, and I've personally seen plenty of debate that can get pretty ugly. I'm not asking that to happen at all. Believe me. I wish we can fix our internet relationship, you have great insight and I agree with most of the things you say. Please lets start anew. :)

Seriously though, from here, I introduce my self to this thread. How bout that.

Detwaa, notice my member number? It's low which means I've been here for awhile, and I've read many threads. I've seen so many people join, and witnessed the sometimes awkward comments, which I have been guilty of as well throughout my membership here. The thing is, within a few threads, we get past some of the off the wall statements and focus on the facts and we think rationally. However, as I read this through this thread, I'm not convinced you've gotten past that stage. You are taking a simple problem/topic/issue and making it far more complex than it really is.

I realize that you are trying to back up your ideas with numerous examples. But your presentation of such information make it unconvincing and difficult to understand your points. In some instances, it's entirely irrelevant.

I know you can be an important part of this community, just please try to think about what you are saying when you post.

To be honest, and this is one hundrad percent honesty, sometimes after I long post and re-read through the thread, I notice it was very stupid. Has that happened to you? or anyone? Maybe I should have never speculated about the Zoo from the begining. Maybe they are closing it because of "real" violance, and if they're not, then who the hell cares, right? Other than the owners. Thanks!

Was this particular post necessary, maybe I wont thinks so when I come back tomorrow.

Lmich, if you read some of the past posts, we don't REALY disagree. If this website is about talking about development, casinos, riverfront, etc. We actually agree on many of them. I really don't wanna go through what I agree with you on, but I know it's many. Maybe not the "media" thing, but that wasn't REAL Detroit. ;)

Necessary? What, to display what seems to be an unspoken rule that showing regret time-and-time-again for making the same 'mistakes' gives one a license to knowingly do the same, again, in the future? Really, I'm not out to get anyone, but, one the same token, I really do wish certain people would stop trying to explain away, or excuse, another's constant Foot-In-Mouth disease. As anyone could tell, I have a very low tolerance for foolishness, particularly when someone refuses learn from it.

isn't there someway to email someone in private. the last 10 or so posts had nothing to do in any way with anything related to development, urban issues or anything inbetween. If issues exist with members relating to thier conduct they should be dealth with privately. In the interest of professionalism you do not air your dirty laundry in a public forum, it would (should) not happen in real life and it shouldn't happen here.

Jason (the other Jason :) ), if you click on someone's username, a menu will come up and you will see where to message someone. I personally prefer public discussions in this case, because it involves everyone who posts here, and I think everyone was thinking the same thing, and when it is discussed everyone knows what is going on and can be on the same page. But that's just the way that I think. I'm a public kinda guy. :)

Wolverine, I agree with your posts here.

LMichigan, to be honest, I think your hiatus is silly. If this site is so unbearable that you must leave, then that's your choice, there's skyscraperpage and other place to go, and that's fine. But then you post and read at DetroitYes, which is the most cracked out backwards site I have ever been to. If Detwaa and a newbie or two here put you on a week long hiatus, then every thready at DetroitYes should put you on a decade long hiatus. I don't really understand.

Detwaa, you're not as bad as some of the people on DetroitYes, but most of your posts (not just the ones in this thread) are cracked out. A year from now you'll be shocked at your current posts. Then you'll feel really apologetic and you'll buy me a fancy car stuffed with 100 dollar bills. :)
