Some mixed news in this article: Harley Motorcycle Dealership Construction Takes Faste Lane to Finish

The good news:

The race is on to complete the new Hot Rod Harley-Davidson dealership in downtown Muskegon in time for this summer's inaugural motorcycle festival July 20-22.

Hot Rod General Manager Paul Winter said it may be a "photo finish" to get the new 40,000-square-foot Harley "concept store" open before the Muskegon Bike Time event.

Took this photo yesterday which shows the new Harley Dealership, half built, in the foreground to the left. just off to the left of the intersection of the two boulevarded streets (Terrace and Shoreline).

The bad news:

The article states that the location was too far from Seelye-Wright's home in Kalamazoo, but Hyundai is looking for other potential owners to open a Muskegon dealership. I fear that Hyundai will end up out near the mall like so many others have relocated to.

This could also be an opportunity for something higher density to locate there. In the future maybe this deal falling through will be seen as a good thing, but right now I see it as a blow to the redevelopment of downtown.
