Update on SKyPAC in Bowling Green

I really think if this project works out, along with the proposed minor league baseball team, it will do wonders for the vitality of downtown Bowling Green and also the whole community. These projects along with the recent success of the Kentucky Trimodal Transpark and the continued growth of WKU has really put BG in the spotlight. I see only positive things to continue to develop for Kentucky's soon to be third largest city.

I think it's safe to say that Bowling Green has surpassed Owensboro for third spot in the state. And personally, I think that's just great for them! I used to frequent both cities when I lived in Central City and I loved both of them. Seeing both do well is great, but BG is light years ahead of Owensboro in just about every facet at this point.

Here are some links to a block model, a map, and an aerial view of what city officials have in mind with SKyPAC and the proposed baseball stadium. This is all connected to the Circus Square park project just a couple blocks north of fountain square park.

This project wil be a great asset to the city by itself, but to together with the other proposed projects I will be anxious to see the collective impact on downtown.

I am a big fan of Paducah's Perfoming Arts Center as mentioned in the article. Its a very nice facility, and I can attest, that when a show or event is going on at the center downtown is quite a bit busier than normal. It can provide quite a bit of extra trade for downtown businesses from what I have seen, so I would have to think the collective activity that could be generated by all these proposed projects for downtown Bowling Green could be quite sustantial based on what I see in Paducah.
