Starbucks on Alpine Avenue is set to open on Friday, October 5th, 2007! I have applied for a job there and hope to hear something!

Seems to me the other noteworthy thing about this is Starbucks repurposing an existing structure. They did the same thing with an old gas station in Fort Wayne a couple of years ago and the project came out looking quite nice.

Having spent some time in my life in Seattle (and offering apologies to one and all in whatever part I may have had as a customer on unleashing this monster on the world) fact of the matter is they, for the most part, are responsible corporate citizens and I welcome thier decision to "recycle" buildings.

Repurposing an existing structure? They completely demolished the building that was there and started over. The only thing left from the former gas station is the sign frame.

According to MDOT, portions of the East Beltline, 28th Street, Plainfield Ave and Lake Michigan Drive have higher traffic counts.

Hmm, I don't know if they were removed or not. I highly doubt Starbucks would have any use for them. (They're a bit large for storing coffee!)

Sorry to hear that, you really should get out a bit more!

Maybe they should use the underground tanks. I mean, what better to add to a cup of coffee than a hint of petroleum? In fact, I think some coffee shops and restaurants in town are already doing this. Mmmmmm, fossil fuels.....

I don't think you'd notice it in Starbucks coffee. At least in their regular coffee , like I tend to stick to, and not their "froofoocappucinomochafrappalatte".
