Richard Gere in Wilmington to film movie

Richard Gere, Diane Lane, Christopher Meloni are all coming to Wilmington this week to start filming the movie Nights In Rodanthe

based on a book written by Nichols Sparks, Who lives "up the road" in New Bern I believe.

Ben Stiller was here about a month ago filming a movie called The Mark Pease Experience which I think is a comedy. Everyone says he was a very nice guy, and enjoyed having him around. Part of the movie was filmed at Ashley High School during their spring break. Several of the students were used as extras. He visited their film club and participated in one of their after school productions a few days before leaving town.

One Tree Hill has renewed it contract to film a fifth season in Wilmington for the CW network.

Over 200 films and tv series have been filmed in Wilmington.

I think Fire Starter staring Drew Barrymore was the first.
