Here's an editorial from the courant promoting Downtown. It says that the BID workers should really be making an impact soon and will be very visible now that it's getting nice out.

Keep an eye on downtown Hartford. Its transformation from a 9-to-5, roll-up-the-sidewalks city center to a 24-hour clean and safe neighborhood with a vibrant nightlife is moving fast.

Regarding street cleaning, can there be a way to fine litterbugs? How do are cities do that?

FYI, The Lofts have been open since the begining of the year and are well more than 50% leased. All of the retail is leased and construction is underway for a new eating establishment slated to open this summer.

The first batch of students that moved in to the townnhouses last January just moved out and summer interns should be arriving soon to re-occupy those units.

Landscaping and clean-up of exterior items is nearing completion and a "block party" is taking place on the newly opened Temple Street tomorrow evening.
