Part-Time Legislature Poll

As the budget talk heats up there has been discussion of creating a part-time legislature instead of our current system of full-time.

Just to play devil's advocate for a second, if they go part time and are paid less than what they make, will that make it possible for anyone who is not wealthy to be a member?

My biggest concern is the Politicians would go part time but insist on keeping full time pay. In short earn more by working less.

I'd support a complete removal of the senate, and go unicameral.

before I thought the idea was silly, but with the way the state senate's been acting like dorks lately, (Although a severe understatement, but I cleaned it up for UP) I'm warming up and embracing the idea.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that sees the state senate for the idiots they are. Be rid of its members, the state's problems would be solved in a heartbeat.

A great state needs great leadership, and Michigan has a little way to go now to become great. I don't believe that a part time legislative body can get enough done with all of the problems and challenges that Michigan faces.
