A look at JD Drew...

Currently: .244, 4 HR, 24 RBI

HR 1 = April 10

HR 2 = April 22

HR 3 = June 8

HR 4 = about two hours after #3

He's hitting .230 with 2 HR and 11 RBI at Fenway

He hit .278 with 8 RBI in April, .171 in May with 9 RBI. Granted he is doing better in June, but his average went up from .224 to .246 in two games vs. Arizona.

Last night was a potential night of history thrown away. Not only do we got A-Rod going for 500 home runs, we still have the Barry Bonds (every at bat interrupts whatever is on ESPN) going for Aaron's record. And on top of that, Glavine was up for win 300 but the bullpen blew it.

I really hope A-Rod breaks Bonds record, and congrats to Glavine whenever he reaches 300.

Everyone will be routing for A-Rod once Bonds retires to chase the record; even Yankees fans, or whomever if he opts out of his deal at the end of the year.

But the Braves sure did a great job at the deadline adding bullpen depth with Dotel + a nice cleanup hitter in Texiera, they certainly put them in the driver's seat for the NL East.

Like it or not, love him or loathe him, steroids or no steroids, asterisk or not, Barry Bonds has shattered (some might say, desecrated) what has been called the single most hallowed record in all of sports, and there ain't a damn thing anyone can do about it! Sure, one can pretend the big gorilla in the corner of the room doesn't exist, but it can't be denied that it's there.

And if Hammerin' Hank's taped message is not an endorsement, I don't know what is...
